    Physical Examinations

    Students registering for Athletics must have a current physical examination on file in the nurse’s office before the student is authorized to participate in practice/tryouts.  To ensure clearance for participation, physicals should be completed and turned in to the nurse no later than 3 school days prior to the first day of practice/tryouts.  

    Physicals are valid for 12 months from the date of the last exam.

    John Cardamone is the Athletic Director and Assistant Principal for grades 7-12.  Prior to coming back to Hornell, he taught 11 years of 9th and 10th Grade Physical Education Health and 10th Grade Driver's Education in Virginia.  He also served as Physical Education Department Chair, Assistant Athletic Director, and Middle School Athletic Director. He then taught Physical Education for 3 years for Baltimore City Schools and one year in Harford County.  He resides in Hornell with his wife and two sons.

    Lyndsey completed her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training with a minor in Exercise Science from Alfred University in May of 2021. Her clinical rotations included covering football, track and field, softball, lacrosse, basketball, soccer at both Alfred University and Alfred State. She completed her internship at Wayland Family and Sports Medicine in the Fall of 2020 where she observed school physicals, blood work, infant well checks, prescribing and dosage procedures of medications, referral processes, medical paperwork as well as COVID-19 education. Over the summer of 2021, Lyndsey volunteered at the IRONMAN/MUSCLEMAN where she helped triage athletes and care for individuals with a wide range of injuries/illnesses. When Lyndsey is not working, you can catch her running, fishing, or baking.
